Mobility research out of the box!

That was the motto of this year’s Pegasus Annual Conference in Berlin.

From 9–10 October 2026, the Pegasus Network for Mobility and Transport Research gathered for its 17th annual conference at the Technische Universität Berlin to discuss current ideas, ongoing work, and new perspectives for the mobility of tomorrow.

Our Mobility and Transport Group (VPL) at TU Dortmund University was represented by four participants, whose contributions ensured a strong presence for our group:

  • Jacqueline Radzyk – Presentation on the acceptability of street space reallocation
  • Justin Tang – Poster on global perception of advanced air mobility
  • Gele Yite – Poster on large language models in travel behaviour research
  • Mika Matysik – Presentation on public transport planning in polycentric urban regions

The focus was deliberately on exchange at eye level. Presentations, posters, workshops, and open discussions created space to discuss emerging concepts and critical questions – from sustainable mobility and the urban transport transition to equitable access to mobility services.

Particularly valuable was the perspective beyond one’s own discipline: Pegasus brings together doctoral researchers, postdocs, students, and professionals from planning and practice. This diversity makes one thing clear: the mobility transition does not succeed in a box – it succeeds through dialogue.

Many thanks to the Pegasus Network and TU Berlin for hosting and for two inspiring days!

Let’s think about – and shape – the mobility of tomorrow together.
