Where more than 600 years of monastic history meets the future of urban mobility — that was the setting of this year's University Conference in Meissen!

From 20–22 September, the "Mobility and Transport" community gathered in the stunning courtyard of St. Afra in Meissen, graciously hosted by Technische Universität Dresden. Prof. Jens Borken-Kleefeld and his team welcomed us, and the atmosphere was nothing short of inspiring.

Technische Universität Dortmund was represented at the conference by our chair, Prof. Sascha von Behren, Jacqueline Radzyk, and Mika Matysik.

What made this conference special? Presentations by early-career researchers, sparking lively, thought-provoking discussions. Long-standing challenges in our field — from the urban mobility transition to equitable access to transport — remained at the very heart. The energy in the room reminded us why we do this work.

And here's the exciting part: NEXT YEAR, the University Conference comes to the Ruhr Area! VPL will host the event in Herdecke, right next to Dortmund.
