We continue to grow as a team! We are pleased to welcome Justin as a new member of our Mobility and Transport Group at TU Dortmund University.

Justin Tang joins us as a Research Associate and PhD researcher in transport planning, bringing a strong background in sustainable and emerging modes of transportation (e.g., electric vehicle, Mobility-as-a-Service, urban air mobility), spatial big data analytics, and agent-based modelling in transportation research.

He holds a Master of Philosophy in Environmental Science from the The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying and Geoinformatics from the The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He also gained practical experience during a summer internship at the Earthquake Monitoring and Tsunami Warning Centre of the Hong Kong Observatory.
His research focuses transport-related big data analytics and agent-based modelling. His research work has been published in several leading journals, including Transportation Research Part A and D, Journal of Transport Geography, and Sustainable Cities and Society, etc. At VPL, he will contribute to further advancing research on sustainable transport modes by combining data-driven approaches with agent-based modelling to better understand changes of travel behaviour.

We are very much looking forward to working with Justin and warmly welcome him to the team.
