We continue to grow as a team! We are pleased to welcome Gele Yite as a new member of our Mobility and Transport Group (VPL) at TU Dortmund University.

Gele is joining us as a visiting scholar from the Inner Mongolia Technical University of Construction in China and as a future doctoral candidate, enriching our team with his solid background in transportation engineering.

Before joining VPL, Gele worked as a lecturer in transportation engineering in China, where he was responsible for teaching and supervising student projects. Most recently, he conducted research at the University of Kassel, focusing on the empirical analysis of interactions in bicycle traffic and dynamics in urban environments. Through these activities, he has built a solid foundation in the areas of traffic flow, traffic control, and microscopic simulation.

His research interests focus on active mobility, particularly the role of e-bikes in changing mobility behavior and mode choice in urban areas. At the VPL, we look forward to his research in the field of mobility behavior, in which he will combine his knowledge of traffic flow with innovative AI applications to support sustainable mobility.

We are very much looking forward to working with him and warmly welcome Gele to the team!
