Back to the roots after 24 years

Mr. Brunsing studied spatial planning in Dortmund and Vienna and completed his studies in the mid-1980s with a diploma thesis on pedestrian traffic.
After a short period in a planning office in Bonn, Mr. Brunsing was a research assistant at the chair under Professors Paul Baron and Christian Holz-Rau from 1990 to 2000. In his dissertation, he examined the opportunities and potential of public leisure transport.
Over the past 24 years, he has worked as a freelance transport planner, from 2015 to 2017 as a substitute professor at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and until 2024 as transport manager (part-time in each case). During these years, he took on several teaching assignments at various academic institutions.
Until October 2025, Mr. Brunsing will be able to pass on his age-related rich professional experience to all spatial planning students and hopefully be able to provide one or two research impulses.
